Wild Chicken Soup.

This chicken soup is an oldie but a goodie. It's so cold in Sydney at the moment and bugs are everywhere. Keep your immune system strong with some nourishing chicken soup. 

I believe if soup is made with the intention of healing for yourself or a loved one, it will make you feel better, and it tastes so good. Serve with a yummy crusty sourdough bread with lots of pure organic butter.

Here’s the recipe…


6 Organic Chicken drum sticks

3 teaspoons of freshly grated ginger

3 cloves garlic

1 grated carrot

1 stick celery, finely chopped

1 white onion

1/2 cup lentils

1/2 cup split peas

1/2 cup barley

1 cup organic vegetable stock ( I love the star-anise organic broths)

1 cup broccoli heads (optional)

fresh chilli

himalayan salt


Boil the chicken drumsticks and barley, lentils and split peas with the fresh ginger in water, enough to cover for 1 hour, reduce heat and add carrot, garlic,celery,onion, broccoli and then the stock, add chilli and salt and bring back to boil for another 15 minutes and then simmer for 45 minutes. Remove bones, the chicken will fall off the bones as it cooks, you can take the chicken out and chop up more finely If you like. Add some pepper, serve with a little parsley and the crusty bread. x
